SRI Graduate Research
Scholarship
As of
2012, all new applicants must have a minimum of a university graduate degree,
preferably with a research component.
Experience from any yoga tradition is acceptable.
SRI is offering a Graduate Research Scholarship in Yoga to be awarded as a part
or full scholarship to those eligible persons who are interested in training to
become a yoga teacher through the Satyananda Yoga Academy (SYA) in Mangrove
Mountain, NSW for the purposes of research into some aspect of yoga for health
and well-being.
The scholarship is to be awarded each year and was initiated to
encourage study and research into the
field of Yoga, to develop further understanding of its practices and its
implications for physical and mental health;
healthy lifestyle; physical, mental and spiritual development.
Terms and
conditions
The scholarship is open only to Australian citizens & permanent
Australian residents residing in Australia.
Scholarship/s will be offered at the discretion of SRI Directors with input from
SYA and can be available for the full 3 year Diploma course at the
SYA in
Mangrove Mountain, NSW, including the three year residential stay, where applicable OR as a
part scholarship to complete previously incomplete studies at SYA.
Unsuccessful
applicants may reapply in subsequent years. If in any year, no award is made due
to lack of suitable applications, further scholarships may be offered the
following year.
Payment conditions
Payment for
each module and residential stays will be paid directly to SYA.
The award may be held concurrently with any other award or scholarship.
Successful and unsuccessful applicants may apply in subsequent years.
